Intrapology

Redefining Identity and Connection Through Interactive Storytelling

Introduction

Intrapology is an experimental project that invites participants to explore their inner worlds through interactive storytelling and collaborative experiences. By blending psychology, technology, and art, this initiative challenges conventional perceptions of identity, society, and culture. Inspired by post-structuralist queer theory and feminist technoscience studies, Intrapology offers audiences a playful yet thought-provoking space to reflect on how we collectively shape the realities we inhabit."

Key Features

  1. Interactive Storytelling:

    • Audiences guide the narrative by voting on dialogue options, influencing what protagonists say, do, and think.

    • Each episode explores themes like identity, social constructs, and the interconnectedness of living beings.

  2. Immersive Technology:

    • Utilises live online performances and custom-built software designed for interactive storytelling.

    • The project’s innovative tools are being developed into shareable resources for other artists to create similar works

  3. Collaborative Creation:

    • Works with psychologists, technologists, and creatives to craft experiences that blend theory with practice.

    • Supported by institutions such as Arizona State University’s Centre for Science and the Imagination and Sheffield Theatres.

  4. Focus on Self-Reflection:

    • Encourages participants to question societal norms and consider alternative ways of existing within shared worlds.

  • Led rehearsals for Episodes 2–5, ensuring performances aligned with the project’s philosophical underpinnings.

Future Vision

As Intrapology continues to evolve, it aims to deliver transformative experiences that challenge perceptions and deepen connections—both with ourselves and the worlds we co-create. By expanding access to its software and methodologies, the project hopes to empower other artists and creators to explore new forms of interactive storytelling.
